Making the Most of Paris on a Budget

Although not exactly ranked the top of the list for cheap places to spend time in, it is completely possible to head to beautiful Paris and not completely drain your bank account. With excellent public transportation systems, plenty of parks and an array of stunning sights to visit that are perfectly wallet friendly, your trip to Paris will still be everything you had hoped for even while on a budget. Here are some ideas on what to fill your days with the next time you find yourself in Paris in and don’t have millions to spend…

Visit the Many Museums

If you happen to be in Paris on the first Sunday of any given month throughout the entire year, several of the museums offer completely free admission. Be sure to head to the Louvre where you can see the famous Mona Lisa painting and spend an entire day exploring some of the 35,000 objects that are housed within the old structure of this most visited museum in the world. Two other fantastic options would be the Centre Georges Pompidou with works by Andy Warhol amongst others as well as the Musee d’Orsay that inhibits a collection of famous paintings.

Wander Through the Parks

A city famous for its many gorgeously designed and well structured parks, a trip to Paris is simply not complete without at least a day spent discovering a couple of the greatest ones. Jardin Luxembourg is one you will not want to miss out on as it encompasses hundreds of thousands of square feet with beautiful statutes, greenery and more than 100 fountains! Another is Jardin des Tuileries, which is a historical park located near The Louvre and filled with more fountains and sculptures and beautiful areas to sit, relax and take in the peaceful nature that surrounds it.

Enjoy the Delicious Food

Although the city itself is packed full of delicious yet incredibly expensive restaurants at nearly every turn, there are still plenty of options to save some money on dining. One of the best ways is to head to the food carts that serve the famous Parisian crepes of all sorts for less than 5 Euros. Another option when the weather is nice is to head to the open-air markets or the grocery stores dotted around the city and grab some food to enjoy while in one of the many parks nearby. Grab a baguette, cheese, meat and some wine and enjoy Paris how it is meant to be enjoyed.
